OUR WORK
Longhurst And Putt Productions Ltd

Ten Percent
Ten Percent is based on the stage play Long Live the King that was fist performed at the Spring Field Theatre in 1990.
The film stars A. G. Longhurst (Tony) and Paul Vagg, later staring Lloyd Notice and A. G. Longhurst at The Mandela Theatre in 1991. At The Mandela Theatre in 1991, the cast included various Extra roles, including Andrew Beck and also James Osborne as the MC.
The last stage production was at The Fox Theatre in 1997 when Lloyd Notice, A. G. Longhurst and James Osborne reprised their roles.
The play always received positive reviews and a wonderful audience reaction. There was a plan on expand the play and writing a sequel entitled Return of the King.
In 2004 it was decided that the play would be made into a stylised black and white film. Directed by Adam Ross and again featuring A. G. Longhurst and Lloyd Notice in the title roles, the film also included a cast of Tony MacPherson, Ray Shell, Lovelace Akpojaro, Will Gains, James Osborne, Paul Nipper, Paul Gormley, Tony Rochira as well as Joe Cronin and Grant Davis. The film was produced by A. G. Longhurst with the screenplay by A. G. Longhurst and Adam Ross.
This Ultra low budget film managed to go on to receive the Jury Award at the Inaugural Waterford Film festival in 2007.
Ten Percent is on Amazon Prime Video which you can find here.

Lucas And Albert
Lucas and Albert was devised from the stage play Babysitters. Written and produced by Robert Putt and A. G. Longhurst, it tells the journey of the two hitmen sent to clean up a ‘bank robbery gone wrong’ from their perspective.
Staring A. G. Longhurst and James Osborne the film also features Michael McKell, John Altman, Kim Taylforth, Sidney Livingstone, Sidney Kean and of course Robert Putt.
There are also appearances for Paul King, Claudia Grace Mckell, Cassandra French, Robert Walters, Gloria Price, Tony Ryan and introducing Bethany Linnell.
Directed by Darren S Cook, the film is shot in black and white on location in Tendring and North Essex. The film has dark comedy moments. Neil Phillips the D.O.P. has beautifully shot the film, along with spectacular aerial drone shots from Greg Malone and Flying Shark Media.
The film also has a wonderful sound track featuring the work of Catlin Grey and Neil Harvey, Denver McCord.
This all contributed to the film receiving the Best Feature Film Award at the 2021 National Film Awards.

Because of the pandemic and the lock down, despite the success, we are still in the process of getting the film distributed and are negotiating with several outlets. However, the film is being given a colour grade with some new music from Michael McKell’s new album; The Last Picture show.

Babysitters was the catalyst for the birth of Longhurst and Putt Productions Ltd. After having several work shops and trial runs at the Brookside Theatre in Romford, the play was rewritten by A. G. Longhurst and Robert Putt. While gaining funding for Babysitters, Lucas and Albert was born and the rest is history.
Babysitters is a crime thriller and is set in the British gangster genre. It tells the story of one time bang robber and gang land figure breaking out of prison by his former colleagues for an impending gangland war. But not everything is as it seems.
The story runs on the same time-line as Lucas and Albert and looks at the events that happened in the cottage they were observing. Babysitters is part of a bigger saga that is all connected and looks at the connections within crime from 1945 and beyond taking in all the decades from the 1940s through to the earlier part of the 20th century.
Babysitters is joined with Lucas and Albert and will explain and complete this part of the saga.
